Halekulani, celebrated for its personalized service, masterful cuisine and innovation, is proud to support the second annual 2012 Hawai`i Food & Wine Festival.
From September 6-9, globally-acclaimed chefs and prestigious vintners will showcase their expertise in fine dining at the four day event, to be held in various venues across Oahu, including Halekulani.
Featuring at least 50 internationally-acclaimed master chefs from the United States, Singapore, Japan, Korea, Philippines, and Australia, this destination festival will give food and wine enthusiasts a taste of paradise, as top chefs create innovative dishes inspired by the diverse culinary and cultural traditions of the Hawaiian Islands. Prepared with Hawai`i’s enviable bounty of locally-sourced produce, seafood, beef, poultry and other ingredients, the festival will also promote the importance of food security and supporting local farmers, ranchers and fishermen to ensure Hawai`i’s sustainable future.
Epicures and novices are invited to “Taste our love for the Land,” which is inspired by the ancient Hawaiian tradition of ahupua`a – an interdependent system where everything necessary for survival is grown, gathered and exchanged locally. The Hawaii Food & Wine Festival highlights the Island’s return to a sustainable eco-system of agriculture, environment and economy. Proceeds will benefit the Hawai`i Agricultural Foundation, the Culinary Institute of the Pacific, Paepae O He`eia and Papahana O Kuaola.
Over four days, the Hawaii Food & Wine Festival will be serving up exciting cooking demonstrations, wine tastings with top sommeliers, culinary workshops, industry seminars and field excursions during our daytime events, plus signature dining experiences over four nights, which includes the “Second Annual Halekulani Masters Chef Gala Series: Chefs Who Have Cooked for Presidents and Royalty” at Halekulani. The gala will showcase internationally-renowned top master chefs, including Halekulani’s own Executive Chef, Vikram Garg, and their unique culinary artistry.
