Ring in the New Year at Halekulani

Halekulani is a special place to be for New Year’s Eve. From dinner at one of our restaurants, such as House Without A Key, a truly romantic restaurant in Honolulu, to dancing under the stars and watching the fireworks over the water, it will be a celebration to remember.

At House Without A Key, our guests can enjoy traditional hula dancers and Hawaiian entertainment from 5:30 p.m. Dinner is a three-course meal, with appetizers and desserts available at our buffet. The main course is a selection of Roasted Prime Rib, a 10-ounce Striploin Steak
, Slow Roasted Rosemary Chicken, Halekulani’s Signature Steamed Onaga and the catch of the day. Dinner is from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. and is priced at $85 per person, or $40 for children ages 5-12 years. Main course options for our youngest guests are Spaghetti Bolognaise or a Beef Burger. Note that there is no à la carte menu on New Year’s Eve.

Orchids, one of the top restaurants in Honolulu, is offering a five-course, prix-fixe menu for New Year’s Eve. Each course has a selection of two or three options. The main course, for example, is a choice of Lobster Au Gratin or Prime Tenderloin Filet. The price is $280 per person, or $100 for children ages 5-12 years. Seating for dinner starts at 6:00 p.m. In addition, on New Year’s Day, Orchids offers its celebrated brunch.

At La Mer, the most sought-after of all 5 diamond restaurants in Honolulu, guests can ring in the New Year with an elegant seven-course meal. The sumptuous dinner begins with Duck Foie Gras, Pineapple Gelée and Vegetable Macédoine. A Venison Filet completes the meal, followed by a delightful dessert. The price is $380 per person, or $120 for children ages 5-12. Seatings are from 6:30 p.m.

Maggie Herron and Rocky Holmes bring contemporary jazz to Lewers Lounge from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. At 10:30 p.m., the Noel Okimoto Quartet will perform hot jazz to welcome in the New Year.

Starting at 9:30 p.m. on our Kawehewehe Lawn between Orchids and House Without A Key, guests are invited to “Swing under the Stars”
with the Tommy James Orchestra and the Paradise Sisters. Then at midnight, our annual fireworks take place right off Gray’s Beach in front of our property, so there’s no better place to be for the celebrations than at Halekulani.

“New Year’s Eve is our most popular time,” says Frank Herandez, Head Concierge. “We always recommend that guests make their plans and reserve their places as early as possible.”

It’s been a memorable 2016 and we wish you and your family all the best in 2017.
