House Without A Key
*Beginning October 7th, House Without A Key has reopened for cocktails and entertainment nightly from 5:00pm-8:30pm, with entertainment beginning at 5:30pm.
One of the most iconic restaurants in Waikiki, House Without A Key is Halekulani’s popular indoor/outdoor gathering spot for sunset cocktails, appetizers, and Hawaiian entertainment. Drink in memorable sunsets under our 130+ year old Kiawe Tree with views of the Pacific Ocean and Diamond Head. This setting is the perfect backdrop to preserve the honored tradition of cocktails and Hawaiian music under the stars and by the sea.
Immortalized in a 1925 Charlie Chan novel, House Without A Key is known for its signature mai tai, a classic to be enjoyed any time of the day. We invite you to try this Halekulani classic at home.
Nightly, our distinctive Hawaiian music is paired with graceful dancing of former Miss Hawaii & Miss Hawaii-USA winners. Begins at 5:30 p.m. nightly.
House Without A Key will reopen newly transformed in late November. Guests will enjoy redesigned entry, a new shaded outdoor bar, a state-of-the-art exhibition-style glass kitchen and contemporary furnishings, while taking in the same spectacular oceanfront sunsets and live Hawaiian entertainment that has made House Without A Key one of Halekulani’s most legendary and popular venues.

Bringing Hawaii style to cuisine
Jarrin Otake, House Without A Key’s Chef de Cuisine, is excited for the reopening of his restaurant, which will include a new pool bar and viewing kitchen.
A winner of the Hawaii / Pacific winner of the Jeunes Commis Culinary Competition for Le Chaine de Rotisseurs, Otake brings his local knowledge and strong cultural understanding to the hotel’s fast-paced dining venue to promote Hawaii Regional Cuisine on the highest level.
Some of his favorite ingredients are fresh garlic, ginger, chili peppers, reef fish, and…BACON.
“We came from Maui for a 3-day getaway. As world travelers we can honestly say that the Halekulani is one of the most wonderful hotels we have ever stayed in! The location is amazing and of course the food but most of all… it is the warmth and professionalism of the staff. House Without A Key is one of our favorite places… not just in Hawaii but in the world. It feels like you are stepping back into old Hawaii with the tropical breezes and gentle music. We can’t wait to come back!”
