House Without A Key
One of the most iconic restaurants in Waikiki, House Without A Key is Halekulani’s popular indoor/outdoor gathering spot for sunset cocktails, appetizers, and Hawaiian entertainment. Drink in memorable sunsets under our 130+ year old Kiawe Tree with views of the Pacific Ocean and Diamond Head. This setting is the perfect backdrop to preserve the honored tradition of cocktails and Hawaiian music under the stars and by the sea.
Immortalized in a 1925 Charlie Chan novel, House Without A Key is known for its signature mai tai, a classic to be enjoyed any time of the day. We invite you to try this Halekulani classic at home.
Nightly, our distinctive Hawaiian music is paired with graceful dancing of former Miss Hawaii & Miss Hawaii-USA winners. Begins at 5:30 p.m. nightly.
Our new viewing kitchen features dishes using different grilling techniques, lunch carving station, brick oven pizza, as well as local favorites such as fresh seafood, steaks, and burgers. We suggest one of our select wines by the glass carefully curated for House Without A Key to enhance your dining experience.
Come and see for yourself the refreshed look of our new dining room, now with pool bar which overlooks the ocean.

Bringing Hawaii style to cuisine
House Without A Key Chef, Jarrin Otake, is excited for the reopening of his restaurant, which includes a new pool bar and viewing kitchen.
A winner of the Hawaii / Pacific winner of the Jeunes Commis Culinary Competition for Le Chaine de Rotisseurs, Otake brings his local knowledge and strong cultural understanding to the hotel’s fast-paced dining venue to promote Hawaii Regional Cuisine on the highest level.
Some of his favorite ingredients are fresh garlic, ginger, chili peppers, reef fish, and…BACON.
“We came from Maui for a 3-day getaway. As world travelers we can honestly say that the Halekulani is one of the most wonderful hotels we have ever stayed in! The location is amazing and of course the food but most of all… it is the warmth and professionalism of the staff. House Without A Key is one of our favorite places… not just in Hawaii but in the world. It feels like you are stepping back into old Hawaii with the tropical breezes and gentle music. We can’t wait to come back!”
