Hawai’i Food & Wine Festival Wine Seminar: Hundred Acre Wines: The Pursuit of Perfection

Hundred Acre is the ultra-premium cult Cabernet project of superstar owner, vintner, and visionary Jayson Woodbridge. His wines are meticulously hand-crafted and scrutinized so that they align with his motto, “Stand amongst the very best or not at all.”

Each of his single-vineyard Cabernets expresses its own unique identity, once again aligned with his philosophies of creating wines with authenticity, a sense of place, a sense of purpose, and a point of view. The prized vineyards of Morgan’s Way, Ark, and Few and Far Between represent some of the greatest terroirs in all of Napa Valley.

His Cannonau (Grenache) bottlings rival some of the finest wines from Châteauneuf-du-Pape in the Rhône, and Priorat in Spain. ARPEPE is a legendary wine estate located in the Valtellina territory of Lombardy, Italy, and their wines are recognized as some of the finest of Italy. The winery name stands for the initials of its founder Arturo Pelizzatti Perego and today, the estate is run by his children Isabella, Guido, and Emanuele.

The winery’s 13 hectares of vines are planted to the Nebbiolo grape but while one may begin comparing them to the wines of Barolo and Barbaresco, these spectacular wines from the Alps have a personality all of their own.
