MEDITATION & GUIDED MOVEMENT

Integrative Wellness Practitioner, Sensei Ray Carbullido

Led by martial arts master, teacher, and artist Sensei Ray Carbullido, these sessions offer guests a rare opportunity to experience principles drawn from traditional martial systems and contemplative practices in an intimate setting. While Sensei Ray Carbullido’s teachings emerge from martial arts, they are not style- or culture-specific, and no prior experience is required.

Sensei Ray Carbullido at Halekulani Dojo

Sensei Ray Carbullido is a martial arts master, teacher, and artist whose work explores existential themes and is deeply informed by his martial arts practice. Beginning his training at age seven, he has spent decades studying swordsmanship and internal cultivation practices, alongside explorations in meditation, healing, and creative disciplines. His teachings draw deeply from Baguazhang, a rare and highly sophisticated internal martial art rooted in Taoist philosophy, celebrated for its circular movements and emphasis on adaptability, fluidity and harmony between mind and body, alongside Tengu swordsmanship, an exceptionally rare, embodied tradition in which the sword is understood not as an object, but as a governing principle shared across all weapon forms.

Since 1998, Ray Sensei has taught and guided students through a multitude of self-cultivation paths, offering workshops, trainings, and personal instruction in diverse settings around the world and working with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds and disciplines. His teaching emphasizes direct experience, helping students cultivate awareness, vitality, and personal understanding through practical engagement rather than theory alone. Drawing from decades of deep self-cultivation and disciplined practice, he shares principles that bridge ancient wisdom with contemporary life and can be applied to movement, relationships, and daily experience. For Ray Sensei, art is a way to share the gems of his practice with a wider audience.
